The Smolinski-Maltby clan
Jim Maltby (front row, right, holding the dog) sent this photo in 2004. Some of the faces are unfamiliar to me.

Top: James Maltby is at the far right. He was Gertrude Smolinski's brother. Next to him is Bob Smolinski.

Bottom: Jim Smolinski is at the far left, his brother, Bimby, on the right, behind Jim Maltby. Next to Bimby is Maureen Maltby, Jim's sister.

IN THE NOTE that accompanied the photo, Jim said:

Just by chance I happened across your MAJOR-SMOLINSKI home page. I recognized some names immediately because I must have met some of those folks when I was pretty young and can still remember my mother, Elizabeth (Liz) Kinsella, speaking about some of them. Besides that, Gert Smolinski was my aunt. She and my father were siblings. I certainly remember Russet Lane and the Irish setters that the Smolinski’s kept.

Here in a nutshell is what's happened with me and my sister: After LeMoyne I taught for three years (one at Manlius Military School and two at Bishop Ludden) then I joined IBM in Endicott, NY. We spent about 18 years there then moved to Boca Raton, FL, still with IBM and worked there until I retired in 1997. We couldn't make up our mind where in Florida to move to so we moved to Plano, Texas, to be nearer to some of our kids and grandkids. We have 5 children, in order of age:

Mary, is married and has two girls, lives in Bel Air, MD

Katherine, is married and has four boys, lives in Plano (about 1 mile away)

James, is married and has two girls, lives in Piney Point, MD

Elizabeth, is married and has a boy and a girl, lives in Keller, TX about 45 minutes from here towards Fort Worth.

Patricia is mentally disabled and lives with us

MY SISTER Maureen lives in Annandale, VA. Her husband Bob Finn died a couple of years ago. She has four children, in order of age:

Kathleen, is married and has a boy and a girl, lives in Alexandria, VA

Michael, is married with one girl, lives in Potomac, MD

Kevin, is not married and lives with Maureen

James is married and has one son, lives in Alexandria, VA
