The long courtship of Stella and Al Pawlik was interrupted by World War II when Al was in the Army. They were married after he returned from service. They lived most of their married life on Orchard Road in Solvay.

Al Pawlik was a 1929 graduate of Syracuse University Law School and a lawyer with the U.S. Veterans Administration for 40 years. He died Aug. 16, 1989.

Stella was a bookkeeper for Flah's and the Addis Co. department stores in Syracuse. She died Jan. 21, 2001. She was 93.
